During our trip to Vienna we stayed 3 days in the Glockengasse 1 apartments at Rafael Kaiser Premium Apartments. Here's everything about our stay in these spectacular apartments.
Rafael Kaiser Premium Apartments
Rafael Kaiser offers premium accommodation and has more than 40 apartments in Austria, in the best areas of Graz and Vienna. They're fully furnished, perfect for both a short stay and longer stays.
Glockengasse 1 Apartments
The Glockengasse 1 apartments at Rafael Kaiser Premium Apartments are located in the 2nd district of Vienna, Leopoldstadt. This area is very central and offers an excellent location, surrounded by cafés, supermarkets, restaurants and shops. It also has excellent public-transport links, with a line 2 tram stop right in front of the building.
The building where the apartments are located is an architectural gem in the heart of Vienna's old town. With an imposing façade that reflects the city's rich cultural heritage, this historic building stands out for its ornamental details and timeless elegance.
Check-in
The check-in at Rafael Kaiser Premium Apartments City Centre is completely automated and contactless. By the way, the entrance to the building is on the right-hand side and isn't the door under the Rafael Kaiser sign, but the next doorway along.
Before you arrive, they'll send you an email with a code. At the entrance to the building on the left, there are some white letterboxes and a black keypad, where you enter the code. Once you've entered it, the letterbox opens automatically, where they'll have left the physical cards inside — these are the keys you use to access both the building and the apartment.
To get into the building, tap the card you took from the letterbox on the black reader, which is to the left of the letterboxes. Below is a photo to make it clearer.
This system is available 24 hours a day, which is great for checking in whenever you arrive, without having to coordinate your arrival with reception or the host.
Types of apartment
The building on Glockengasse offers 19 apartments of different sizes, with capacities from 3 to 8 people, all elegant and design-led.
Our apartment
We stayed in the VIVID apartment, a 52 m² Deluxe Penthouse with a terrace. This apartment stands out for its elegant, colourful design, flooded with natural light, which makes it bright yet cosy at the same time.
The apartment has a bedroom with a double bed and a living room with a sofa bed and a TV with Netflix. The kitchen has a dining table for 4 and is fully equipped: fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and a drying rack. As well as crockery, cutlery and all the utensils you need for cooking.
The apartment has a bathroom with a bathtub and a separate toilet. In the bathroom you'll find Rituals shower gel and shampoo and a hairdryer. Cleaning, along with the change of sheets and towels, is done weekly.
Terrace
But the biggest draw of the Vivid apartment at Rafael Kaiser Premium Apartments, is without doubt its terrace. A lovely outdoor space with impressive city views, featuring an open-air bathtub, ideal for relaxing after a day exploring Vienna. The terrace is also fitted with an L-shaped sofa and a table.
Inside the apartment you'll also find several glass vases and LED candles, in case you want to enjoy a moment of relaxation and romance in the outdoor bath.
On the building's fifth floor there's also for guests to use, free of charge, a gym and a laundry.
Gym
The gym at Rafael Kaiser Premium Apartments City Centre is a small but practical space, ideal for keeping fit during your holiday. It's equipped with cardio and weight machines and a set of dumbbells. The gym also has a lovely, spacious outdoor terrace and a small fridge with free drinks and fruit for guests.
Laundry
The building also offers a shared area with washing machines, dryers and detergent available to guests completely free. The apartment also has an iron and ironing board. In the laundry area you'll also find coffee capsules, tea bags and toilet paper, so you can top up if you need to.
The worst part
The worst part, without doubt, is the building entrance. It's old and dirty and has nothing to do with the beauty and quality of the apartments themselves.
